The enclosed paint scheme represents - 

Boeing B17F-80-B0 42-29953, "Wolfess",of the 364th BS/305th Bombardment 
Group, 8th Air Force, Chelveston, England, November 1943.

This aircraft was lost in a tragic mid-air collision when it rose and 
hit another B17's underside, shortly after take off. The crews of both 
aircraft (21 men) were killed. 

Captain Varney Cline,the 364th BS's Operations Officer who was flying 
the other aircraft had just completed his tour of duty and was 
due to be sent to home.
